The Government’s quest to set up resident courts in suburban areas, so as to take justice delivery system to the people, is bearing fruit as Epworth Magistrates Court officially opened its doors at Domboramwari in Epworth, today.
The move is in line with the National Development Strategy (NDS1), which is aimed at ensuring that the country attains an upper middle economy by 2030.
In his address while officially opening the Epworth Magistrates Court today, President Mnangagwa said construction of the court was yet another milestone, which shows the Second Republic’s commitment towards the decentralisation and devolution of essential services.
“It further guarantees enhanced access to resources and services, including courts of law, by the majority of our citizens in all parts of Zimbabwe.
“Access to quality judicial services remains an important pillar in our endeavor to realise Vision 2030,” he added.
President Mnangagwa also urged the Justice Service Commission (JSC) ensure transparent justice delivery in the country.
“In line with the Constitution, the JSC must scale up the facilitation and promotion of transparent, effective and efficient justice delivery in Zimbabwe,” he said.
